torn from a poem,
with words that burn through my blood

are carried along through the cool mountain air

or ten thousand miles apart,
distant lands
and shores

from atop those towering mountains,
where the winds of heaven blow,
where my heart was ripped wide open,
and reborn

all those waterfalls that thundered,
and all those broken trails we roamed,
here the echo of the footsteps,
from long ago...

remembered your song,
i loved you before we were born in this life,

like the river that just rolls by,

weathered peace of teardrops fallen,
this weathered heart that keeps on singing,
through it all...
